Trace - Print Box set

Prints by Richard Deloughry and Alison Erika Forde

Students, staff and invited artists have all contributed to a Box set of Prints entiltled 'Trace'. The idea of the box set is to keep a record of the varying nature and approaches to Print at MMU. Each artist has responded to the word 'Trace' in a unique way and through a diverse range of print processes (Woodcut, Silkscreen, Etching, Digital, Linocut, Lithography). All sales from the Box set will help Print students in the future and also assist in the production of future box sets of prints.

Invited artists included in 'Trace' are Alison Erika Forde (image right), Andrew Bracey, Laurence Lane. Staff include Oran O'Reilly, Chara Lewis, Howard Goody, Mike Hitchens. Graduating Students : Amy Allen, Leighton Bohl, Lois Davenport, Richard Deloughry (imageleft), Eleri Ellis-Williams, Jennifer MacIntyre, Chris O'Neill, Reza Ostad-Saffari, Rima Salem, Michael Sheridan, Lorene Simpson, Sean Titcombe, Sam Wild.

Fine Art Printmedia Degree Show

The Fine Art Degree show at MMU ran form the 17th - 23rd June. I would like to say congratulations to all of the Printmedia students who put on a fantastic exhibition in two areas of the Grosvenor Building. There was an extremely diverse range of work that saw students working with both established and contemporary digital approaches to Print - with some interesting combinations of drawing, photography, installation, sound and video. The image is of Lorene Simpson and her book 'The Seeker' based on the story of Frank Searle (intrepid Loch Ness Monster hunter). I will be attaching more photos of the Degree Show soon...........

Leaf Lungs

Here are some beautifully delicate lungs made from leaves by one of our current 2nd year students Jess Loveday. Jess' work focuses on the ephemeral as a metaphor for climate change and deforestation.

Christmas Party...

A bit late, but here is a clip of the Printmedia Christmas Party... with guitar by Richard Deloughry and vocals by students form the various Fine Art areas. With many thanks to our American exchange student Claire Daniel.....
